Marking International Women’s Day: Meet Anji, ParaMed District Director, Champlain
In some ways, Anji fell into the family trade, with a grandfather, parents and sister who built their lives in health care. A trained nurse, Anji worked in intensive care and teaching hospitals for more than a decade. After obtaining her Master’s degree, she held a management, administrative and accreditation roles in oncology and cancer units. Though she planned to be in the hospital sector for the length of her career, she saw an opportunity to make a difference in new ways when she joined ParaMed in November 2020.
“It was a change I didn’t know I needed,” she said. “I really appreciate that everybody’s North Star is quality care.” In her work, Anji has the opportunity to guide her teams across her region in Eastern Ontario. “There’s an environment here to be the most authentic leader you can be, and to let your team grow into roles and be the most authentic versions of themselves for patients,” she said. “Here, you can be a part of something that can really make a difference in people’s lives.”
