A client believed Michael saved his life by identifying a clogged PICC line and sending the client to the Emergency Department. This client was extremely grateful for the care Michael provided.
Upon visiting a client for malnutrition and dehydration, it was noted that the clients fridge was empty and she had no means to get groceries. After a few phone calls, more frequent PSW care and cooking was arranged as well as grocery delivery. This was very rewarding and explains why we do what we do.
A palliative client wanted to die at home but had no family to support him. Two nurses and 1 PSW created a team of care for this client with good communication and continuity of care. The client was able to pass away at home as he wished exemplifying the great work of our palliative care team.
Wife of a client was so appreciative of the care her husband received from PSWs. She felt so supported by the PSWs and they meant a great deal to her and her husband.
This PSW had a magical way of communicating with this client with advanced dementia. She earned the clients trust enough to ride with her in a taxi to her destination and saw to it that the client was settled into her home.
